Job Description
Johnson Law Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Workers' Compensation division in our Chicago office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual, whether you have prior experience in workers' compensation or are a paralegal looking to specialize in this important area of law.
We are looking for a proactive team player who thrive in a growing firm. Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, eager to learn, and excel in a collaborative team setting.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support throughout the lifecycle of workers' compensation cases, ensuring all deadlines and procedures are met.
- Draft and prepare legal documents specific to workers' compensation cases, including applications, petitions, responses, and settlement agreements.
- Organize, review, and summarize medical records relevant to workers' compensation claims.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Understand and apply Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission rules and procedures for filings and hearings.
- Conduct factual and legal research relevant to workers' compensation claims in Illinois.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including organizing exhibits and witness files.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records in our case management system.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's Degree
- Paralegal certification is a plus.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior experience as a paralegal, preferably in workers' compensation or personal injury, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Illinois Workers' Compensation laws and procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Hours:
This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Chicago office, M-F 9-5pm.
