Salary: $65,000 - 85,000/year
The Litigation Paralegal will play a key role in case management, document organization, and trial preparation. This position requires a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple deadlines, and is comfortable working directly with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case intake, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Draft, proof, and format correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
- Organize and maintain case files (both electronic and hard copy) and ensure timely filing of court documents.
- Conduct factual and legal research using court databases, public records, and online tools.
- Manage discovery production, including document review, indexing, Bates labeling, and maintaining discovery logs.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and witness meetings.
- Prepare exhibits, witness binders, and trial notebooks for hearings and trials.
- Assist in managing deadlines and case calendars.
- Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel professionally and promptly.
- Provide trial and hearing support as needed, including travel to court or off-site locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal department (specific practice area experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure and court filing rules (state and/or federal).
- Proficiency with legal software and tools such as Clio, iManage, Relativity, CaseMap, TrialDirector, or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and discretion with confidential information.
