Job Description

Summary

This position is responsible for all duties related to the receiving of the incoming grain as it pertains to the scale room duties and the loading of finished products produced at the plant. This person will supervise the people performing these duties, it is expected that all work is completed safely, in a timely manner with strict adherence to plant SOPs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assure new employees to the team have proper training and are qualified to perform tasks.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to set schedules assuring timely loading of ethanol and MWDGS, it is a priority to meet customer and company objectives.
  • Be familiar and capable of all duties related to scaling trucks, grading corn and loading ethanol and distillers.
  • Have a general understanding of FRA, OSHA, & DOT applicable regulations.
  • Assure all equipment used in loading of distillers, ethanol and weighing grading grain is in good operating conditions, initiate repairs as needed. This includes scales, front end loader, trackmobile, hand tools and all electronic equipment associated. Must have a working knowledge of all pertinent equipment.
  • Provide revision input to policies and procedures, must have a desire to constantly improve safe, efficient operations with enhance customer service results.
  • Provide daily input or report of shipments as needed.
  • Communication with direct reports and management is essential.
  • Prepared every day to assist as needed in the department filling in where needed, must be able to perform all duties for both material handlers and grain grader.
  • Assure all areas of the plant where duties are performed that plant sanitation standards are upheld.
  • Promote a team-oriented culture, supporting each individual.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree required.
  • Must be hard working and self-motivated.
  • Requires a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to operate a utility vehicle.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge working with Windows, Excel, etc.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements of FRA, TTB and state regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs., and work at heights.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to dusty conditions.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to high noise environments.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditions.
  • The employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used in the process.
