Staff nurse responsibilities include providing for the emotional, medical, and physical needs ofDanville’s consumers and improving their quality of life by observing, documenting, reporting,taking action and following-up on their health, safety, and medical needs, and implementingmedical recommendations made by the team and the RN House Manager. Staff nurses providenursing services under the direction of the RN House Manager and are required to stay within thescope of the Nurse Practice Act.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience• RN Degree (AD, BSN or MSN) or LPN from an accredited school of nursing• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience preferredAdditional Requirements• Must be able to pass a criminal background/fingerprint and central registry check• Must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and an insurable driving record• Nursing license must be valid in the State of AZ with no adverse actions• Must have good interpersonal communication skills• Knowledge of Microsoft Office• Basic keyboarding and computer skills• Must be highly organizedSpecial Skills/Training/Certifications• Must have an unencumbered nursing license• CPR/First Aid, Prevention & Support, Article 9 & other training as required by Danvilleand the State of Arizona Division for Developmental Disabilities.Physical Demands and Working Conditions1. Physical Requirements – Requires repetitive manual and finger dexterity and eye- handcoordination; requires the ability to use all office equipment; and the ability to lift/carry up to 50pounds using appropriate body mechanics. Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit, andwalk for periods of time. Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics while assisting with thetransfer of individuals weighing up to 250 pounds utilizing manual or mechanical lifting devices.2. Visual, hearing, and communication requirements – Requires corrected vision and hearing tonormal range, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verballyand in writing with all staff, other professionals, and consumers. Must be able to give and receiveverbal and written instructions in English.3. Work location – Home-like and office settings with varying degrees of background noise. Thepossibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens exists if universal precautions are not followed.May require working under stressful conditions at times and handling emergencies. There will bepressure at times to meet scheduled appointments and deadlines and manage crisis situations.This position will interact with consumers who are intellectually and developmentally delayedand may be frail or confused and have the potential for verbal or physical aggression.
