Job Description
Machine Operator / Cutter, 2nd Shift
Rock of Ages currently has an opening for a Machine operator /Cutter position in our Production Plant at our Graniteville, VT location. is responsible for operating production machinery to process and prepare finished stone products. This includes ensuring dimensional accuracy, inspecting for quality, handling products safely, and preparing them for loading onto trailers, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely Use machinery to produce a variety of stone monumental products as: CNC saws, splitter, diamond saws, thermal machines and other granite manual and automated production machinery.
- Ensures dimensions are correct using a tape measure.
- Identify imperfections related to the production process.
- Keep stone slabs and work area clean through the use of a low-pressure water hose.
- Prioritize safety by following all procedures and regulations policy.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, push and pull-on conveyors within the parameters of their work-release status.
At all times the employee will be provided with the opportunity to use either a crane to lift loads or seek the assistance from another employee to complete a task that would otherwise compromise their recovery. Lifting or moving up to 40lbs frequently and 50lbs on occasion.
Training:
We offer training that will advance your knowledge, skills, and abilities within the industry. This position does not require any prior experience or training. We will train you.
Working Conditions
- Employment status: Permanent / Full-time.
- Hourly rate: $21 to $30 and up, depending on industry experience.
- Schedule/2nd shift: 3:00 pm to 1:30 am Monday to Thursday.
