Job Description

Summary: Maintenance Technician & Coordinator- Multi-Campus provides facilities maintenance and repair support across multiple ISL campuses. This position assists campus-based Facilities Technicians with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The role requires flexibility to travel between sites, coordinate with school staff, and ensure that facilities remain safe, clean, and operational for students, teachers, and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilities:
- Prompt and timely attendance. This position requires flexibility in shift start time.
- Performs maintenance tasks to support building operations across all campuses, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs.
- Assists campus Facilities Technicians with complex or large-scale maintenance needs.
- Assists campus Facilities Technicians in directing workflows that are associated with maintenance and custodial needs.
- Handles supply runs on an as needed basis.
- Provides cross-campus support during peak workloads, staff absences, or emergency situations.
- Detects and reports defective materials, unsafe conditions, or urgent facility concerns to the Assistant Chief of Operations.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on building systems, grounds, and equipment as scheduled.
- Maintains accurate records of work performed at each site.
- Maintains work areas, tools, and ISL vehicles in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Ensures all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and school procedures.
- The International School of Louisiana retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
Qualifications, Education and Work Experience:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate and two years of related experience in a maintenance environment.
- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following skills: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, machine repair and painting.
- Ability to define problems, and resolve them quickly.
- Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.
- Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations.
- Must be a self-starter who can work well with a team environment.

- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) part of the work day;
- Required to frequently move and transport boxes, furniture and maintenance equipment weighing over 50 pounds;
- Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks such as working at heights, moving mechanical parts, cleaning chemicals, and slippery areas;
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements;
Normal setting for this job is an office/school setting.
