Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond to breakdowns and failures on the plant floor

  • Troubleshooting and correcting equipment

  • Use machinery including: cut-off saws, lathes, surface grinders, drill press for fabricating and/or machining of parts

  • Perform electrical, plumbing, electronics, air and water tasks

  • Grease and lubricate bearings, gearboxes and rollers in all sections of the plant

  • Perform regular check on gearbox seals and help with preventive maintenance on plant equipment

  • Responsible food safety, food defense and food quality.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work weekends or overtime with short notice on a daily basis if needed.

Working Relationship:

  • Necessary to work as a team supporting and communicating properly with the other members of the production line and maintenance

  • Position interfaces with all department supervisors, leads and machine operators to determine extent of maintenance assistance

  • Assists contractors as needed

Supervision:

  • Does not supervise anyone.

Physical Demands:

  • Be able to lift 50-100 lbs. on a regular basis that weigh 50 lbs.

  • Able to work on feet for the entire shift.

  • Able to read and understand formulas and other instructions.

  • Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, pulling, climbing of machinery and/or tooling

  • Work in high ambient temperatures

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills

  • Education: HS Diploma or GED; Post High School education preferred

  • Experience: 3 -5 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
