POSITION PURPOSE
Authorizes, regulates and controls airline flights according to government and Company regulations to expedite and ensure flight safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Ensures Dispatchers comply with all FAA and Company regulations and procedures in monitoring flight operations, individual flight planning, releases, aircraft routing, weather and operation advisory service duties.
- Manages planned aircraft routing. Ensures plan is adjusted for maintenance issues, weather, airport closures or other issues accordingly.
- Supervises Dispatchers and Dispatch Coordinators in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities. Staffs and creates schedules to meet the requirements of the daily operation.
- Monitors weather systems and makes recommendations to the operation as needed.
- Coordinates with all appropriate parties any unscheduled operation of aircraft due to weather, airport closures, emergency situations, etc.
- Initiates emergency procedures and notifications when necessary.
- Ensures all non-routine operations are coordinated with flight crews, stations personnel, and airline partner management teams.
- Records all non-routine incidents and completes appropriate forms and reports.
- Participates in charter flight coordination with regard to SOC operations.
- Recommends changes to Flight Operations and Dispatch related manuals.
- Attends daily operations meetings and reports status of the daily operation.
- Reviews daily performance reports and audits for accuracy.
- Fosters the Company's core values and culture throughout the work environment.
- Provides technical leadership to team and department members. Leads through example; monitors, influences and trains others. Provides input to supervisor on performance reviews and helps to identify development needs. Provides coaching, performance feedback, counseling and takes corrective action as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of commercial air carrier or comparable operations in a Dispatcher capacity or equivalent, with at least one of those years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Possess Microsoft Office skills.
- Proficient in use of Dispatch related software (Sabre FliteTrac, WSI Fusion, Aircom, AeroData, etc.).
- Knowledgeable on regulations pertaining to crew duty and rest.
REGULATORY
- Able to pass an FAA required 10 year work history review and pass criminal background and fingerprint checks.
- Possess and maintain a valid US passport or foreign passport.
- Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
- Willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and understand technical procedures and governmental regulations,
sometimes quickly and under stressful or emergency situations. Able to effectively present information
to and respond to questions from management, crew, air traffic control, and internal associates. Able to
speak and be understood in English in person, on the phone and over a radio headset.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions. Must be able to remain calm, think and react quickly in all types
of emergency situations.

Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction. Decisions often require some thought and are somewhat structured. Decisions tend to be short term and usually moderate cost. Able to process information quickly and react in a positive manner during unexpected and/or serious situations. - Able to sit for prolonged periods.
- Able to hear clearly verbal communications in person, on the telephone and over a headset with ambient noise.

Able to work nights, evenings, weekends and holidays to support 24 hour operations.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Able to attend industry meetings as well as meetings with airline partners and vendors.
