$40.30 - $60.45Primary Purpose
Supervise and schedule tasks related to the maintenance of Navicent Health’s facilities. Oversee, coordinate, and perform activities involving electrical distribution and generation systems, plumbing systems, equipment repair, furniture repair, and roofing maintenance. Ensure work meets quality standards and designated timelines. Direct the overall preventative maintenance schedule for patient rooms and public areas of the health system.
Major Responsibilities
- Enforce all department, hospital, and system safety guidelines; serve as a role model for safe practices.
- Communicate work request status to staff; supervise Facilities Management crews, oversee training, and maintain strong team orientation.
- Oversee construction and maintenance phases to ensure quality, timeliness, and budget compliance; coordinate downtimes.
- Ensure accurate data entry into work order systems and dashboards; manage generator and automatic transfer switch maintenance/testing.
- Manage approximately 30 employees for 24/7/365 coverage; track productivity and maintenance completion.
- Monitor purchasing and scheduling activities; verify timely delivery of materials and subcontractor performance.
- Manage operation and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and assigned equipment (e.g., surgical equipment, beds, pneumatic tube systems).
- Oversee painting and carpentry functions; ensure facilities maintain positive first impressions.
- Inspect jobs and facilities for quality and safety; interpret blueprints, specifications, and codes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives (e.g., Hospital 5S); manage contracts, purchasing, inventory, and signage program compliance.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
- High school diploma required.
Certification / Registration / License
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License required.
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, commercial building management, boiler operations, or industrial plumbing trades.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and written instructions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in generating written and digital reports.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and preventative maintenance practices.
Preferred Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field.
Certification / Registration / License
- Additional certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or facilities management.
Experience
- Prior healthcare facilities management experience.
- Advanced supervisory experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of operational excellence principles and regulatory compliance standards.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to hear, communicate orally, and maintain visual acuity and manual dexterity.
- Frequent movement, stair climbing, and maneuvering around equipment.
- Work in climate-controlled hospital settings and construction areas with exposure to dust and debris.
