Job Description

Located in Bristol, Rhode Island for over 50 years, Tri-Mack is a leading manufacturer of high-temperature thermoplastic components for the aerospace-defense, semiconductor, energy and medical industries.  Our broad capabilities include collaborative engineering, tool making, injection molding, thermoplastic composite processing, multi-axis CNC machining, bonding and assembly, testing and quality control - all within a modern, environmentally controlled 60,000 sq. ft. facility.  Our culture is based on values that promote respect, teamwork and accountability and we are committed to meeting customer requirements through our ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management system.  PLEASE NOTE - Applicants are required to pass a criminal background check.  This position involves access to data that is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.Position:  Manufacturing Purchasing ClerkSummary: The Purchasing Clerk plays a vital role in supporting procurement by handling day-to-day purchasing activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely procurement of goods and services.  This position processes purchase orders and follows up with suppliers to ensure material availability to support production schedules. This position requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities and to collaborate with vendors and internal departments. Responsibilities& Accountabilities:
  • Source products and services from approved vendors and obtain quotes as necessary; process purchase orders (POs) using ERP/MRP procurement software (e.g. Visual Manufacturing, SAP, NetSuite, etc).
  • Track order status, follow up with suppliers on deliveries, and escalate any delays and/or discrepancies.
  • Verify receipt of goods and services against POs and coordinate with receiving and accounts payable for accurate invoicing.
  • Maintain updated vendor files, including contact information, contracts and pricing agreements.
  • Participate in negotiating minor contracts or blanket orders under the guidance of senior procurement staff.
  • Attend and participate in Production meetings, communicating status and escalating any concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, budget constraints, work instructions and regulatory requirements (e.g. tax-exempt status, ethical sourcing).
  • Possess a collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams (e.g. sales, finance, operations, warehouse).
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner and demonstrate Tri-Mack Values:  Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Accountability and Durability.
  • Adhere to all AS9100, ISO and NADCAP requirements as specified in work instructions.
  • All other duties and special projects as assigned by your manager.
Education, Skills & Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Basic math skills for cost comparisons and invoice reconciliation
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks while paying close attention to details and specifics
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accurate records
  • Precise in data entry, order tracking, and compliance documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP procurement software (INFOR Visual Manufacturing a plus)
  • Experience with manufacturing in the aerospace industry is a plus
  • Reliable, accountable and able to learn quickly and work with a minimum amount of supervision
  • Able to get along with others, work independently, and consistently work your scheduled hours
