Job Description

Shift 1: Monday- Friday, 6:00am- 2:30pm

Starting Rate: $17 + $2 premium pay = $19/hour

Responsible for picking, palletizing, and/or stacking cartons ranging from 5 to 150 pounds daily, utilizing a two-person lift team where designated. This role and job description are specific to non-conveyable bulky and/or heavy items.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates RF scanner to pick product from assigned locations based on information provided in WMS or pick ticket
  • Appropriately attaches labels to cartons
  • Constructs shipping crate pallets using pneumatic nail guns and other appropriate equipment for carton shipping as needed
  • Safely places product on appropriate pallet
  • Rotates responsibility for efficient daily operation. Interacts with appropriate functional area to resolve issues such as no-reads, mispicks, etc.
  • Operate pneumatic stapler and nail gun, banding machine, and powered industrial equipment according to the safe operating procedures
  • Demonstrates safe working practices in all facets of work, including following safe heavy lifting techniqes and team lifting when applicable
  • May train new or less experienced staff members
  • Demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset through participation in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the company
  • And any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a certified powered industrial equipment operator and experience with RF technology preferred. Additional training in the use of pneumatic staplers and nail guns, and banding machine required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, bend, stand and rotational standing and bending; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently grab, lift, carry, stack, and/or move materials and product weighing up to 150 pounds utilizing 2-person team lift techniques where designated. Occasionally is required to climb up to 2 flights of 10-inch stairs. Employee may operate pneumatic and banding equipment, powered industrial equipment, and RF scanner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
