Insituform Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.

The Mechanical Design Engineer works with and supports the various manufacturing facilities to maximize productivity, reduce waste (all forms) and analyze best use of equipment, materials and floor space.
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements and manages manufacturing productivity measurement systems.
Conducts motion and time analysis to develop production standards and to verify actual production costs match initial product/process design estimates.
Works with accounting group to rectify manufacturing cost discrepancies.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Evaluates, recommends and implements changes to existing manufacturing processes to optimize costs and/or improve quality.
Designs/develops tooling and fixtures to reduce process setup times and/or facilitate product changeover.
Assists with product/process development efforts when introducing new products/materials into the manufacturing facility.
Leads lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: Skills and experience generally associated with the attainment of a 4-year Degree in engineering, technology, or other related fields. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred. Experience with 2D or 3D CAD software required.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures; draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information to individuals or groups (management, employees, clients, customers, general public) and respond to questions.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic statistical, algebraic and geometric concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volumes, etc.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to collect data, establish facts, and solve practical problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Interpret various documents in written, oral, pictorial, diagram, or schedule forms

Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate and empower, to be a strong communicator able to take initiative and function independently.
Personal Attributes: Position requires individual to be able to correct others when errors are found within the process, therefore strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
Computer-Based: Ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software. Ability to learn new applications quickly. Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point) required.

Work Environment: In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in an office type environment but will occasionally be required to work in outside weather conditions (occasionally near job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by automobile and airplane required.
