What You’ll Do
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, construction, operational rollout, and maintenance of our kitchen spaces. This role will focus on the development of mechanical systems, construction documentation, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical design and will play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and coordinate building systems with a primary focus on mechanical (commercial kitchen ventilation and HVAC) scope.
- Collaborate with in house architectural, plumbing, and electrical teams to produce integrated design documentation.
- Create detailed construction documents, drawings, specifications.
- Perform system sizing calculations for various projects to ensure efficiency and code compliance.
- Support product and equipment selection, including requesting and reviewing vendor equipment submittals and shop drawings.
- Collaborate on the Basis of Design development and standard details for scalable and efficient deployment of projects.Conduct site analysis to evaluate existing conditions, constraints, and infrastructure readiness. Review and provide technical feedback on EOR (Engineer of Record) Construction Drawings and/or peer review in house produced drawing sets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including development, construction, operations, facility management and GSM.
What We’re Looking For
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years focused on mechanical design in commercial construction..
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems in commercial construction.
- Proficiency in design and construction software including Revit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore or equivalent platforms..
- Understanding of building codes, energy efficiency standards, and construction processes.
- Ability to analyze and optimize building systems for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Experience with vendor coordination and construction administration.
- Bonus: Experience designing or coordinating plumbing or electrical systems.
