Medical Office Clerk – Family Medicine (Federal Contract)

Location: Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, NC
Position Type: Full-Time, Civilian Role
Contract: Department of Defense – MQS2-NG | UID: 00183160349
Start Date: On or after October 1, 2025
Clearance: Tier 1 Public Trust (U.S. Citizenship required)

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Standard daytime hours (e.g., 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • No weekends, holidays, or overtime unless otherwise required by the clinic

Overview:

Join a mission-driven care team at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, where your administrative skills will directly support the health and readiness of service members, veterans, and their families. We are hiring a Medical Office Clerk to provide frontline clerical support in a fast-paced Family Medicine clinic under a Department of Defense civilian contract.
This is a highly visible position—ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment and enjoys being the go-to expert for patient communications and front-desk operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and manage secure messages, promptly documenting communications in the MTF’s Electronic Medical Records system (EMR)
  • Relay instructions to patients from providers or nurses via phone or secure messaging
  • Check-in patients for appointments and confirm/verifying demographic and insurance information
  • Scan and upload medical documents accurately into the EMR
  • Initiate diagnostic test requisitions at the direction of clinical staff

Minimum Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship (required for base access and background clearance)
  • Education: High school Diploma or GED 
  • Certifications:  Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience: Previous experience in a military clinic, hospital, or outpatient practice strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of EMR systems, secure messaging platforms, and patient check-in protocols
