About the role

The National Inventory/Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the financial reporting and analysis for each market. This role involves reconciling inventory balances, coordinating with other departments to ensure accurate data, and analyzing inventory-related financial transactions.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Monitor all daily, weekly, and monthly inventory activity for each market. 
  • Perform regular reconciliations of inventory accounts, including detailed analysis of inventory adjustments, write-offs, and variances.
  • Collaborate with inventory personnel, procurement, and operations teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies between inventory records and financial statements.
  • Work closely with the procurement team on inventory stock.
  • Travel between markets to perform routine audits of inventory.
  • Assist in process improvements as it relates to the accounting department. Work closely with the National Accounting Manager to ensure all improvements are documented and reported to all inventory personnel.

Financial Reporting/Compliance

  • Enter and maintain all inventory related vendor bills; review invoices against PO's for discrepancies and report any missed discrepancies to procurement.
  • Prepare and analyze & record inventory-related financial reports, including cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and gross margin analysis.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports as it relates to inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies regarding inventory management and financial reporting.

Candidate Qualifications

Skills

  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.

Experience

  • Proven experience in inventory accounting or similar role.

Educational Background / Certificates

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Periodic site visits of Production Facility and/or Warehouse to assist or conduct in monthly, quarterly, and annual counts.
  • Travel to markets (state)  as needed.
