Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Neuro Hospitalist (Inpatient, 7-on/7-off)
- Sherman, TX | Full-Time | Inpatient Hospital Setting
- Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off | Rotational Schedule
- Pay Range: $120,000 – $155,000 per year (Commensurate with Experience)
Position SummaryA well-established hospital-based neurology and stroke program in the Sherman, Texas area is hiring a Neuro Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to manage inpatient neurological and cerebrovascular cases in collaboration with experienced neurologists and critical-care specialists.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct inpatient evaluations, neurological exams, and care planning for patients with acute neurological conditions.
Participate in stroke codes, multidisciplinary rounds, and daily treatment updates.
Manage patients in step-down and neuro-critical care settings.
Educate patients and families about neurological disease processes, treatments, and recovery.
Support ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Texas RN license and ACNP certification
BLS (required); ACLS (preferred)
2+ years of experience in acute or hospital-based NP practice
Excellent clinical judgment and documentation accuracy
Preferred
Background in neurology, neuro-critical care, or hospital medicine
Stroke certification or advanced training (NIHSS, ENLS)
Familiarity with EEG, lumbar puncture, or neuro imaging procedures
