Job Summary
The New Business Manager role will partner with Sales, Contracting and Commissions internally and work closely with agency and carrier partners related to the submission of life and annuity applications through Brokers International. The manager will lead two separate teams of case managers, one focused on Life Insurance and the other on Annuities. This role will ensure service level agreements (SLA's) and other key metrics are met or exceeded and communicated effectively. We are constantly looking for ways to improve processes and increase efficiencies which require strategic thinking in addition to traditional leadership skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for establishing and/or maintaining a team culture where team members understand expectations and can flourish as individuals and as part of a team.
Work to improve internal processes to improve quality and create efficiencies that allow team members to focus more on problem solving and less on data entry.
Research and resolve escalated issues while understanding potential impacts to relationships and evaluating root causes to prevent future issues. Proactively work to establish alliances with agency principals and key ops staff.
Regular 1x1 and team meetings to ensure employees understand progress against goals and understand how their efforts contribute to Operations, Sales, etc.
Provide resolutions to internal and external business partners in a timely manner through email, phone and face-to-face interactions.
Build/maintain partnerships with key carrier partners to ensure our ability to escalate and receive consideration when exceptions are needed.
Collaborate with peers, leaders, project managers and technical teams to identify and define problems and/or drive process efficiencies that align with our strategic direction.

Primary Skills & Requirements:
- Management experience or informal leadership that positions candidate to be successful in the role. Strong understanding of Life and Annuity case management process and experience working with carriers and agents.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University plus 4-6 years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to lead teams and individuals through change management, employee development, and providing feedback
- Displays emotional intelligence and empathy to foster strong relationships with team, peers and customers to build a positive working environment.
- Strong customer service skills
- Efficient use of time including delegation of tasks and evaluating where time is spent vs. return on investment
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter that can work independently.
