Position Overview
The qualified candidate will support new product development (NPD) and introduction (NPI) efforts within the SubCom Wet Plant organization. New products will include Repeaters, Branching Units, ROADMs, Deployment Pallets, Terminal Equipment, and related products. As part of New Product Development and Introduction projects, the candidate will oversee equipment procurement, process development trials, product testing, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Interpret Undersea Network Element (UNE) and Terminal Equipment design requirements and develop processes for high yield manufacture.
- Work with equipment and material suppliers to scope, quote, and purchase necessary equipment and materials for New Product Introduction.
- Work with SubCom Operations and Facilities teams to install and commission new equipment.
- Develop testing methods and trials to test and qualify new products.
- Coordinate with Production Planning and Operations groups to schedule and run trials.
- Analyze trial and test data and to determine process and product capabilities.
- Document process parameters and product certification tests to insure product conformance.
