Nursing Director of Trauma Program

Location: Fort Walton Beach, Florida (On-Site)

Compensation:  $120K - $135K Based on leadership experienceEmployment: Full-Time

Position Overview

Lead and elevate the Trauma Program at a hospital-level in Fort Walton Beach. The Nursing Director of Trauma Program is responsible for:

  • Providing strategic and operational leadership for trauma services
  • Overseeing trauma registry management, quality improvement, education, and research initiatives
  • Ensuring alignment with national trauma standards and accreditation requirements
  • Collaborating with surgeons, Emergency Department leadership, and hospital executives to deliver exceptional trauma care

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the trauma program: staff coordination, performance monitoring, and resource management
  • Maintain and analyze trauma registry data to support compliance, accreditation, and research goals
  • Drive quality improvement through case reviews, audits, and performance trends
  • Coordinate trauma center verification and re-verification processes
  • Promote trauma education, community outreach, and staff development
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and advocate for evidence-based trauma care

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of recent (within the last year) acute care Trauma leadership experience (e.g., Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Coordinator)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS) certification within 30 days of start date
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational abilities
