Job Description

Nursing Instructor

Rasmussen University is currently seeking Adjunct and Full Time instructors with our Bloomington, Eagan, and Hennepin/Anoka campuses. Our Nursing courses provide students wtih the knowledge, clinical skills, nursing values, and experience necessary to be successful in their chosen field. No formal prior teaching experience is necessary! We are seeking individuals who want to inspire through teaching and build the future of nursing - one learner at a time. If you're a practicing BSN or higher prepared nurse who loves mentoring new nurses on the unit, consider bringing that passion to the classroom.

Full-Time Instructor Responsibilities:

  • Instructors are responsible for teaching courses in a variety of modalities while promoting and supporting the vision and mission of Rasmussen University. Instructors will generally teach 4.5-5.5 work units each quarter equaling a full-time work schedule.

Adjunct Instructor Responsibilities:

  • Adjunct Instructors are responsible for teaching lecture, skills or simulation laboratory, and/or clinical practicum courses in the Nursing program as assigned. These courses may be on campus or at off-site clinical partner locations. This is a part time role and Adjunct Instructors are generally scheduled to teach 1-2 work units each quarter.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required (Master's preferred). Rasmussen University follows the requirements set by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, and the states in which the campuses operate
  • 1-year clinical experience as an RN required, 2+ years preferred
  • Proof of active RN licensure that has never been encumbered
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Proof of professional licenses/certifications, official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution and applicable faculty immunization and CPR certification required

Our defined compensation structure is market competitive and is built to reward performance. If selected for a Full-Time Instructor role, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $69,400.00 to $93,700.00. If selected for a Part-Time/Adjunct role, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $38.00 to $60.00 per hour. We take a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including but not limited to: job and level hired into, location, skill set; experience and training; peer compensation and other business and organizational needs. This range is subject to change.

Pay is just one component of our total rewards package.
