Job Description

Responsibilities: A Nutrition Services Aide assists the cooks and other nutrition services department personnel in areas such as washing dishes, answering the room service phone line, delivering patient trays, food preparation, food storage, cleaning, stocking, and operating the cash register. The Nutrition Services Aide must always follow safe food handling practices. In addition, the employee must understand prescribed therapeutic and modified diets. 

 

Qualifications: It is preferred that the Nutrition Services Aide has a ServSafe Certification. It is also preferred that the Nutrition Services Aide has a High School diploma or equivalent training or up to one-year related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. It is also preferred that one has prior experience in food service and commercial food preparation and following prescribed diets.
