THE ROLE
We are seeking a senior-level SSD Validation Engineer to lead the qualification of our internally designed solid-state drives. In this role, you'll be a key player in all phases of the product development cycle, focusing on proving the capabilities of our cutting-edge technology. Your expertise in NVMe testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis will be critical in driving the progress and success of our drive qualification efforts and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compatibility.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead the end-to-end qualification of NVMe SSDs, developing and executing test plans across performance, endurance, reliability, and compatibility metrics.
- Drive failure analysis and root cause identification, performing initial triage and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and customer escalations.
- Proactively define and develop new SSD qualification tests, focusing on advanced NVMe features, functions, and new requirements to strengthen our validation processes.
- Champion process improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, consistency, and reporting in our qualification methods, with a focus on automation and reducing test cycles.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team, contributing to the development of best practices and overall team effectiveness.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Extensive experience in storage system validation or design, with deep expertise in SSD/HDD development and qualification.
- Strong proficiency in storage interface protocols, including NVMe, SAS, and SATA, with hands-on experience using PCIe/SAS/SATA bus analyzers and trace capture tools.
- Expertise in failure mode analysis for flash-based devices and a proven ability to lead complex troubleshooting efforts.
- Advanced scripting language skills to automate tests and streamline qualification cycles.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, present technical findings, and drive issues to resolution.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
There is no application deadline and we accept applications on an ongoing basis until the job is filled.
The annual base salary range is:
$175,000-$263,000 USD
