Job Description
Overview:WiredPeople is seeking a Occupational Therapist located in or near Hampton County, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will provide school-based therapy services to students with disabilities or developmental delays to support participation, functional performance, and academic success. The OT will conduct evaluations, develop individualized therapy plans, deliver direct and consultative services, and collaborate with educators, families, and support teams to ensure students receive the services they need. This position is full-time and on-site in Hampton County, SC. Essential Functions:
Conduct assessments to identify students’ fine motor, sensory-motor, visual-motor, self-care, and functional school participation needs.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and therapy plans based on evaluation results and team input.
Provide direct, consultative, and/or group OT services in accordance with IEPs.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support students’ engagement in classroom and school activities.
Provide recommendations for accommodations, modifications, adaptive equipment, and assistive technologies.
Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and service delivery in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
Participate in IEP meetings, student support meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Support RtI/MTSS processes with screenings, interventions, and classroom strategy recommendations as needed.
Adhere to ethical, professional, and regulatory standards of practice.
Travel between school locations within the district as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current South Carolina Occupational Therapy license.
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary school teams.
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting.
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and school-based service delivery models.
Experience with sensory integration, motor planning, fine motor interventions, and adaptive equipment.
