Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Provide general administrative support to staff and management

  • Handle essential office tasks to provide support when needed.

  • Maintain accurate records and patient files to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.

  • Coordinate office operations, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and events

  • Facilitate office communication and teamwork

  • Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Help the office run smoothly and report any issues to management when they are made known.

  • Working directly with the medical director and on tasks needed to promote the efficiency and quality of care provided.

  • Working collaboratively with the department manager to optimize execution of policies and procedures while monitoring and ensuring daily compliance in the office.

  • Assisting in creating and maintaining an environment of customer service and high patient satisfaction.

  • Conducting employee performance appraisals and documents competency of staff annually.

  • Utilizing basic medical front and back-office procedures and medical terminology, including:

  • Equipment, supplies/instruments used in a medical office, clinical laboratory methods, universal blood and body fluid precautions, OSHA rules and regulations, protocol for storing poisons, narcotics, prescriptions, acids, caustics, and flammable items, restrictions imposed by various managed care carriers, various forms inherent to the profession, and patient confidentiality regulations.

  • Ensuring proper maintenance of equipment.

  • Communicating clearly and facilitating patient education when warranted.

  • Exercising independent judgment and decision making, while employing diplomacy and compassion with all types of people.

  • Utilizing excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Understanding and enforcing the financial policy of the practice and recognizing and correcting data capture errors.

  • Providing medical reports and correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • EDUCATION: High School diploma, Associate degree related to healthcare required

  • EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year of office experience preferred

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience

  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Prefer billing and coding knowledge but not required.
