The primary responsibility will be to assist in course administration for courses, including formatting and populating their corresponding Moodle shells with data, collecting PDFs of relevant materials, and compiling bibliographies. Other responsibilities may include gathering bibliography, style editing for articles and book-chapters, and similar tasks.
Hours
Approximately 1-3 hours per week (not to exceed 30 hours in one semester). Hours will depend on professors’ schedules as well as being on- and off-campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Academic Operations Associate, Mey Saechao, the duties of a graduate research assistant is as follows:
- Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the Jesuit School of Theology of SCU
- Ability to research and understand theological journals and books
- Ability to organize and present findings of research in a timely and coherent manner
- Style-editing, proofreading, and formatting articles and book-chapters before submission
- Collecting PDFs for research projects and courses;
- Compiling bibliographies from library and internet databases
- All other duties assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Enrolled in post-graduate studies at JST or GTU
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (esp. Word), Google Suite (esp. Drive), Adobe Acrobat, the GTU library databases, and Moodle
- Meticulous attention to style, spelling, and grammar in US English
- At least a basic knowledge of Greek and/or Latin (strongly desirable)
