This position is responsible for managing, developing and motivating Sales Representative teams, implementing sales plans, achieving company and/or supplier goals, monitoring, developing and maintaining account relationships as well as performing various administrative duties.

Job Description:

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manage, develop and motivate Sales Representatives. Establish a monthly contact schedule with each Sales Representative with a minimum of seven full day "work-withs". Develop a list of improvement or growth goals for each Representative and monitor progress. Provide feedback to all direct reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. Educate sales staff to build/improve product knowledge and sales skills. Provide all tools and materials necessary for Sales Representatives to successfully complete assignments. Develop and implement creative selling ideas within your team. Identify and assist in the training of your potential replacement. Conduct weekly group and individual meetings; attend and take part in the development and preparation of meetings and presentations for the division.

  • Implement sales plans and achieve company and/or supplier goals.
  • Review sales versus goal progress regularly and address issues immediately.
  • Assist in the development of brand sales programs.
  • Successfully execute supplier market visits, crew drives, seminars and tastings.
  • Work closely with supplier partners to create a positive environment for achieving mutually agreed upon goals.
  • Monitor, develop and maintain account relationships.
  • Enforce the use of an organized master route schedule by the Sales Representative to ensure frequent and consistent account contact.
  • Direct Sales Representatives to recognize new account openings and opportunities in their areas quickly to create a competitive advantage.
  • Work with sales group to identify and communicate competitive market activity in the marketplace.
  • Develop list of opportunity accounts with sales team where additional management contact and energy would result in creating or improving business.
  • Have an active role in building key account business and relationships in your team's area.
  • Perform various administrative duties including but not limited to: Implement consistent and proper administrative processes to facilitate/expedite sales reporting. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with problem accounts. Abide by company and legal policies governing the industry. Demonstrate company loyalty; cooperate with and assist peers and other departments in attaining each other's objectives.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Keep abreast of competitive information and activity. Properly use and care for all company property. Maintain a clean, safe and presentable working area and vehicle condition.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education:

  • BS degree or equivalent work experience;

Experience:

  • Prior experience working with suppliers and/or in a wholesale/distributor environment strongly desired.
  • Prior management experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated coaching and leadership skills with proven, positive results required.

Computer Skills:

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and Internet applications
  • Prior experience working with Branches, Easy Bev and/or Quota Tracker a plus

Math Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

Other Requirements:

  • Legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license, required insurance and acceptable driving record
