Position Description:

The Lutrill and Pearl Payne School of Education (SoE) in the College of Human Sciences and Education (CHSE) at Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Educational Research. We encourage applicants in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, Educational Research, Counseling, and Higher Education. The ideal candidate would possess experience teaching research methods courses at the graduate level. The individual will possess excellent pedagogical skills in face-to-face, hybrid, and web-based courses and an expectation to teach, support, and mentor graduate students in the SoE, who have a variety of research interests including curriculum and instruction, higher education, educational leadership, counseling, and educational research methods. This individual should have a cohesive research agenda and publication record in their field of study, demonstrating expertise in a variety of educational research methods including quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods approaches. We welcome applicants who have a proven record of securing external grants or potential in obtaining external grants. At LSU, collaboration is highly valued and fostered, thus evidence of working relationships with others from a variety of fields is preferred. Appointment date: August 15, 2026.

Responsibilities:

Conduct scholarly research; teach graduate classes; advise graduate students; direct theses and dissertations; seek external support for scholarly activities aimed at building an externally funded research program; and perform service to the school, college, university, and profession.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in Educational Research Methodology, Educational Statistics, or other Education discipline (i.e., Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Higher Education, Counseling, etc.) with a strong background in Educational Research Methodology (for example, a minor in research methodology or statistics) from an accredited university
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level
  • Expertise in advanced research methods in educational settings
  • Publication record or potential publication agenda in high impact research journals and presentations at prominent national/international meetings.

Job Competencies:

  • Demonstrated commitment to developing and teaching in-person, hybrid, and online courses
  • Demonstrated collaboration with faculty and/or graduate students

If applying at Associate or Professor level, previously earned tenure & promotion to the rank of associate or full professor from an accredited university.
