Job Description
Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an Operating Room Nurse Manager (RN – Surgical Services) for a top healthcare client in Overland Park, KS.
This leadership role oversees daily operations within an 11-room Level II Trauma OR, managing approximately 40 FTEs and 550 surgical cases per month. The OR Manager is responsible for maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimal resource utilization, and team development across all perioperative areas.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and manage all clinical and operational aspects of the Operating Room department.
- Oversee perioperative services including pre-op, operative, and post-op care to ensure quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and hospital leadership to improve departmental efficiency and throughput.
- Manage staff scheduling, recruitment, orientation, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation requirements, and best practices for surgical care.
- Oversee departmental budgets and resource allocation in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Maintain accountability for staff development, engagement, and retention.
- Support and uphold hospital mission and service excellence goals.
Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care OR management experience required
- Experience in a multi-room OR and trauma setting strongly preferred
Certifications/Licenses
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact State license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required or obtainable
- Specialty certification (e.g., CPAN, CNOR) preferred
