Job Description
The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to drive the growth of our organic social media presence and help bring our brand to life across digital platforms. This role sits within Booz Allen’s Strategic Communications and Channels team, which is responsible for telling Booz Allen’s story, defining the company’s messaging and positioning, and translating our work into tangible value for our people and customers.
As an Organic Content Social Media Manager, you will lead the development of engaging organic content across our corporate social media channels. It is both strategic and hands-on as you look at the big picture and roll up your sleeves to concept, write, and produce content day-to-day. Your work will position Booz Allen as a thought leader, shaping a social presence that sparks engagement, expands our reach, and makes our advanced technology story unforgettable. You'll work closely with senior marketers, designers, and video editors to develop and publish compelling content. You’ll also partner with communications, executive visibility, brand, and marketing teams to shape a unified voice and craft compelling stories.
We’re looking for someone who sees social media as a strategic business lever—someone who thinks in headlines, understands voice and tone, and creates content that meets the moment while building for the long term. You should be an avid social media user who loves the space and is skilled at turning complex, technical information into scroll-stopping content. Confident in leading projects from concept to execution, you don’t wait to be told what to do next. You’re passionate about mission-driven work and bring a demonstrated interest in technology, defense, and national security issues. You thrive under shifting priorities and tight deadlines, delivering high-performing campaigns on time. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
What You'll Work On:
- Drive and develop organic social media content in alignment with company priorities.
- Tailor content strategies to each platform's unique strengths, audience behaviors, and algorithms from X to LinkedIn.
- Experiment with and champion new types of content to stay on the cutting edge of trends.
- Ensure every post reflects Booz Allen’s brand voice, quality standards, and creative excellence.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to transform technical information into content that resonates.
- Set and manage content development timelines aligned to goals and deadlines.
- Partner with executive communications for leadership visibility and media relations for executive eminence.
- Step in to manage publishing when needed, ensuring consistency and quality across all posts.
- Manage business partner approvals of copy and visuals.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
- 7+ years of experience in social media and digital marketing, including with and for advanced technology companies
- Experience copywriting and applying brand tone, message clarity, and platform-appropriate voice
- Experience with visual storytelling
- Knowledge of major social platforms, their audiences, and content best practices
- Ability to translate complex ideas into dynamic and engaging digital content
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance competing priorities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism
Nice If You Have:
- Experience working in technology, defense technology, federal government, or related environments
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience in video production and video editing for social media
- Ability to demonstrate an eye for graphic design
