Job Description

BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is a growing aluminum extruder. As we grow, our employees and

opportunities do as well. BRT offers generous compensation package to our plant/shift supervisors.

This includes (salary plus overtime) and a quarterly performance bonus. Upon eligibility, we offer paid

The goals of the Packing Department:

The department's priority is to pack customer orders in a timely manner and to customer specifications.

Ensure material is the correct die, length, finish and piece count in bundles and that orders are being

completed to achieve customer requirements.

Teams in the Packing Department are to meet the quota set for each day/week/month and to make

sure shipping has what it needs to fill scheduled shipment requirements.

The Packing Supervisor will:

Supervise a crew of up to 30 employees on a specific shift, ensuring proper processes/safety

protocol are followed.

Handle employee attendance challenges, employee conflict and performance management.

Direct, train, coach and develop hourly team members, including providing frequent and

constructive feedback, recognizing good performance and addressing performance issues.

Ensure a safe work environment through education and training, promoting safety awareness

and accountability, and identifying and addressing potential hazards.

Track and achieve productivity goals for their shift.

Be responsible for reporting any safety incidents/accidents or maintenance challenges to the

appropriate contact.

Operate industrial equipment as needed.

Move product and/or materials manually as required.

Comply with all Company policies and ensure employees do the same.

This position will often use computers and work a flexible schedule based on production needs.

Complete any administrative tasks as required.

Requirements of The Packing Supervisor

1 -2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Must have better than average math skills: reading die prints, understanding lengths and

tolerances, use measuring tools.

Must be patient and have proven people management skills.

Must be 18 years of age to work in the plant.

Must be able to work varying shifts if needed.

Be reliable and have good attendance.

Must have ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and to understand

basic instructions in English.

Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This

includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.

Physical requirements for the Packing Supervisor:

This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures

can fluctuate from hot to cold and the noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk,

bend, stoop, twist, turn, climb, and push/pull frequently. An individual in this role will need to be always

aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move 50lbs frequently

and up to 100lbs occasionally. An individual in this role will remain stationary and move about the

factory as needed per essential duties of the position. An individual in this role will be an effective

communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read, follow and give written

procedures to employees with or without reasonable accommodations.
