Job Description

Summary

As a Dealer Trade Driver, you will play a critical role in the efficient operations of our dealership by ensuring the safe and timely transport of vehicles between different dealership locations. You will be responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading vehicles in a professional and courteous manner while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. The primary goal of this position is to facilitate smooth inter-dealership vehicle transfers, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimizing inventory levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport vehicles between dealership locations, ensuring the protection and integrity of the vehicles during transit
  • Properly load and secure vehicles onto the transport trailer or delivery truck, adhering to industry safety standards and guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of all transported vehicles, including vehicle information, mileage, and condition reports
  • Maintain effective communication with dealership staff to coordinate vehicle pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe driving experience and protect the vehicles being transported
  • Conduct pre
  • and post-trip inspections of the transport vehicle and report any issues or damages promptly to the appropriate personnel
  • Interact professionally and courteously with customers and dealership personnel, providing exceptional service and addressing any concerns or inquiries
  • Handle unexpected situations such as traffic delays or vehicle breakdowns, adapting to changing circumstances to ensure on-time deliveries and pick-ups

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, meeting the requirements set by local and national driving regulations
  • Previous experience in vehicle transport, delivery driving, or a related field is preferred
  • Ability to lift, load, and unload vehicles, as well as perform other physical tasks associated with the position
  • Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and safe driving practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and dealership personnel
  • Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to completing assigned tasks accurately and on time
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork and maintain detailed records of vehicle transport
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings, to accommodate business needs and operational demands
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, cooperating with colleagues and contributing to a positive work atmosphere
