$42.43-$83.95 Hourly
however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Title: Registered Nurse- Same Day Services- Infusions
Work Schedule for this Position: Every other weekend- Saturday & Sunday 10 hour day shifts; 2 weekdays the following week

Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse- Same Day Services- Infusions is a clinical practitioner responsible for the coordination and delivery of outpatient infusion therapy while functioning as an integrated member of the Same Day Services nursing team. This role provides safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, evidence-based practice, regulatory standards, and the scope of practice established by the State of Washington.
The primary focus of this position is infusion therapy; however, the Registered Nurse also supports Same Day Services workflows and patient care activities based on operational needs, competency, and staffing models. The nurse cares for a mixed adult and pediatric population and practices with a balance of independent clinical judgment and team-based collaboration, utilizing standing orders, clinical protocols, and defined escalation pathways.
The Registered Nurse demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pullman Regional Hospital, relationship-based care principles, and the goals of Same Day Services and the organization. The Registered Nurse functions as a core Same Day Services team member and is expected to participate fully in weekday Same Day nursing responsibilities based on competency and operational need.
A Day in the Life:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients across Same Day Services, with a primary emphasis on infusion therapy.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to support infusion care as well as Same Day Services workflows, including pre-operative intake, pre-admission processes, Phase II recovery, procedural sedation support, and pain management procedures, based on competency and patient need.
- Safely administer infusion therapies, including biologics, antibiotics, blood transfusions, hydration, iron, injections, and specialty medications, in accordance with established protocols.
- Initiate, access, maintain, and discontinue peripheral IVs and central venous access devices within scope of practice and demonstrated competency.
- Continuously monitor patients during and after infusions and procedures for adverse reactions and clinical changes, responding promptly using clinical judgment, standing orders, and escalation pathways.
- Provide patient and family education related to infusion therapy, Same Day procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, patient responses, and education in the electronic medical record.
- Actively participate in weekday Same Day Services operations when not scheduled for weekend coverage, supporting department flow, throughput, and patient experience.
- Balance independent clinical practice with effective collaboration across the interdisciplinary Same Day Services team.
- Communicate effectively with providers, pharmacy, care coordination, and team members to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance are required.
About You!
This Job is For You if You Have:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in good standing in the State of Washington.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire and maintained.
- Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at time of hire and maintained.
- Active Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification at time of hire and maintained.
- Demonstrates the technical and clinical skills required of a Registered Nurse in an outpatient infusion and Same Day Services setting.
- Ability to recognize, assess, and respond to infusion-related adverse events and medical emergencies.
- Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to practice independently using standing orders and escalation pathways while remaining highly collaborative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, medication safety, and quality improvement principles.
- Demonstrates adaptability, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to support multiple Same Day Services workflows as needed based on competency.
A Wow if You Have:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Prior experience in infusion therapy, ambulatory care, or acute care nursing.
