Description

We are seeking a dedicated, student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist to join our school-based team. This role supports students with communication needs by providing direct interventions, conducting evaluations, developing high-quality IEPs, and collaborating with staff and families to promote meaningful progress.

REPORTS TO/TERM:

Regional Director of Exceptional Student Services

This is a part-time position scheduled to work 25 hours weekly

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Provides assessment and remediation services to students with speech impairments within the school setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations, including screenings, formal assessments, and diagnostic reports aligned to Louisiana Bulletin 1508 guidelines.
  • Develop, write, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect accurate data, present levels, measurable goals, and appropriate services.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, timelines, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to support student communication needs across school environments.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, progress monitoring, and required professional development.
  • Collect and analyze ongoing progress data and adjust therapy interventions as needed.
  • Provide resources, strategies, and communication support to teachers to increase generalization of skills in the classroom.
  • Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by administration

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of evidence-based speech-language interventions.
  • Skilled in writing compliant, data-driven IEPs.
  • Ability to complete evaluations and reports in alignment with state guidelines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, timelines, and documentation efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
  • Current Louisiana SLP license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience working in a school setting is a plus but not required.
  • Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
