Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Deliver all parts in your territory in a prompt, efficient, courteous and safe manner.
  • Check the parts billed on the tag match the part number on the item you are delivering. It is yourresponsibility to check the accuracy of the order before you leave on your route.
  • Whether you are at the dealership or at a customer’s location, you are a representative of Interstate Truck Center, LLC and you are expected to act and dress in a professional manor while you are performing your duties.
  • Deliver parts to technicians when instructed by your supervisor.
  • It is your responsibility to keep the vehicle you drive in top working order by insuring you have the oil changed at the proper intervals, checking tire pressure and all fluid levels daily. It is also your responsibility to keep the vehicle clean inside and out and immediately address any safety concerns with your supervisor. Do not drive an unsafe vehicle at any time. Smoking is prohibited in the company vehicle.
  • Delivers and picks up mail at post office when directed by supervisor.
  • If you do not have deliveries to make, report to the head of shipping and receiving department for instructions on additional duties you can do until you have deliveries to make again.
  • Abide by the policies in our company employee handbook.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of prior driving experience
  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean abstract required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and eager to improve
  • Strong organizational skills as they relate to workload, time management and setting priorities
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
