JOB SUMMARY:
The Performance Assessment Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and evolving software tools and analysis capabilities used to assess and analyze Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) system performance. This role focuses on performance-oriented software development, automation, data analysis, and collaboration across engineering teams to generate actionable performance insights.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop software solutions focused on post-processing analysis tools and visualizations used to assess C2BMC system performance.
- Write high-performance Java and Python code to support analysis, tooling, and automation efforts.
- Refactor legacy software components to improve scalability, latency, and resource utilization.
- Conduct deep-dive performance studies and generate actionable insights.
- Recommend architectural or algorithmic improvements based on performance findings.
- Maintain, evolve, and troubleshoot the Jenkins and HTCondor automation platform, including pipeline jobs, scripts, and plugins.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and perform high-level analysis of C2BMC performance.
- Create analysis documentation and technical briefings and present findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain and update C2BMC analysis utilities, visualization dashboards, and data exploration notebooks.
- Ensure analysis tools and artifacts are well documented and kept current.
- Translate existing MATLAB-based tools into Java and Python implementations.
- Stay current with emerging Java and Python performance techniques, CI/CD tools, and database technologies and proactively introduce improvements.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Software development experience focused on performance analysis and assessment tooling.
- Proficiency in Java and Python development.
- Experience refactoring legacy code to improve performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Experience developing analysis tools, visualizations, or post-processing utilities.
- Experience creating technical documentation and briefing analysis results.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering teams to support performance assessment activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION: Bachelors with 5+ or Master with 3+ Years of Experience

SALARY RANGE: $105,000 to $127,000
