Job Summary

The Opportunity

MGB Specialty Pharmacy serves patients from a centrally managed location in the Boston area with support from local entity clinics and pharmacy departments.

The MGB Specialty Pharmacy will deliver high quality services with an emphasis on patient education, service excellence and comprehensive care management. MGB Specialty Pharmacy will serve as an integral link between patient and provider, efficiently providing first-rate service to optimize patient outcomes and achieve organizational financial goals. Therapeutic areas of focus will include Hematology, Oncology, inflammatory conditions, Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS and Multiple Sclerosis

At Mass General Brigham Specialty Pharmacy, we ship time-sensitive Specialty medications to patients of Mass General Brigham. In this role you will make an impact while experiencing opportunities for cross training and career growth.

How our Shipping and Receiving Coordinators make an impact:

  • Pack prescriptions and coordinate paperwork for shipment
  • Ensure medications are packed accurately according to order and other details
  • Work performed within narrowly defined parameters.
  • Follows established procedures and guidelines.
  • Contacts are primarily with department managers, leads, subordinates, and peers.
  • Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
  • Generate shipping labels by bar-code technology
  • Receive deliveries at the loading dock
  • Maintain and stock all shipping supplies, as many times needed throughout the day.
  • Maintain all vials, caps and other supplies as needed
  • Fill all ice freezers in pharmacy shipping departments
  • Fill all copy and printer paper in Fulfillment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience/Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Warehouse/fulfillment or customer service experience highly preferred
  • General computer skills
  • Strong work ethic with focus on the details, process efficiency and sense of urgency
  • Attention to detail
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
  • Using a pallet jack
  • Team oriented

  • Developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.
  • Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
  • High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.

  • Ability to exercise judgment in dealing with sensitive, confidential information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to walk around/be on your feet for duration of shift
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
