Job Summary:

Join our compassionate and collaborative team at our Springfield pharmacy, where you'll play a vital role in providing excellent service to our community. As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll assist the Pharmacist in preparing and delivering medications, delivering a customer experience that prioritizes satisfaction and care. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who excel in communication and enjoy making a difference in the lives of our patients. Your contributions will ensure that every customer receives the highest level of service.

In this role, you'll support the Pharmacist in various technical tasks while engaging with customers. You'll gain valuable knowledge and skills to advance within our pharmacy and make an impact every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete both Basic Technician and Advanced Technician online training modules from Computer Rx to ensure a solid understanding of pharmacy operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and address inquiries effectively, ensuring satisfaction with pharmacy services.
  • Answer phones and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist's expertise.
  • Process new prescriptions and refill requests accurately.
  • Prepare prescriptions alongside pharmacists by counting or pouring medications and labeling containers.
  • Maintain pharmacy supplies and ensure the stock is well-organized.
  • Order and check in medications from suppliers efficiently.
  • Prepare insurance claims and verify patient payments diligently.
  • Assist patients in locating over-the-counter medications.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to keep the pharmacy area tidy and welcoming.
  • Make deliveries and accept payments when required.
  • Participate in staff development activities to foster growth within the organization.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing with the appropriate board of pharmacy or application submitted.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Successful completion of background checks, including criminal and driving records, as well as fingerprint checks.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation and all training requirements upon employment and annually thereafter.

Physical Requirements:

  • ADA Consideration- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may require walking or standing for brief periods.
