Job Duties
Assists pharmacists as directed with filling medication orders, preparing labels and delivery of medication or supplies to all patient care areas.
Picks up medication orders from both unit dose and non-unit dose patient care areas, fills routine drug requisitions and delivers completed orders in a timely manner.
Assures delivered medication are given to nursing personnel or securely stored in proper medication storage areas.
Replaces floor stock medication.
Reviews, maintains, rotates stock and restocks drug storage locations in main pharmacy and pharmacy satellites. Alerts Inventory Control Clerk, Pharmacist, Director of Pharmacy of drug supplies that need to be reordered.
Packages pharmaceuticals, and IV medications including preparing and affixing all necessary labels to the packaged product for inspection and verification by a pharmacist.
Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Fills unit dose medication carts and area specific exchange carts.
Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.
Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
Other Duties
Position QualificationsRegistered with the state of New Jersey as a Pharmacy Technician. By state guidelines, may be obtained within 180 days of being hired.
National Certification as Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) required from an organization recognized by the American Society for Health-Systems Pharmacists or the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.
EducationHigh School graduation or equivalent required.
Job Setting/Physical DemandsSalary commensurate with experience within posted range.
$26.01/ Hour
