Job Description

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)Pay Range: $44 – $48/hourSkilled Nursing / Post-Acute Care

Join our team! We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our therapy department and provide high-quality patient care under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Physical Therapist with direct patient care, treatment implementation, and documentation in accordance with physician orders and state regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist and physician treatment plans

  • Document daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board requirements

  • Communicate patient progress, concerns, and treatment plans with the therapy team

  • Participate in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings as needed

  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized therapy department

  • Support training of Restorative Aides and nursing staff as appropriate

  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs and discharge planning

  • Report equipment issues to ensure safe and proper operation

  • Participate in in-service training and continuing education

Qualifications:

  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing with the state

  • Skilled nursing or post-acute experience preferred

  • Proficient with EMR systems such as Casamba and PointClickCare

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally

  • Ability to perform bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching as needed
