To assist in the provision of physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist

Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

EDUCATIONBA or A.A. degree from an approved Physical Therapist Assistant school or have training or experience or combination which in the opinion of the Physical Therapy Examining Committee of the California State Department of Consumer Affairs is equivalent to that obtained in an approved school (Calif. Admin. Code 1398.47 #1 and #2) for California licensureEXPERIENCEOne year as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in an acute care hospital setting preferredLICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONSPhysical Therapist Assistant Required at hireBasic Life Support Required at hireIntegrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hirePREREQUISITE SKILLS1. Knowledge of safe and effective transfer and gait training techniques, physical therapy modalities, and therapeutic exercise2. Ability to complete documentation as per policy and procedure3. Ability to read, speak, write, understand and follow English verbal and written instruction4. Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work
