Job Description

• Patient Treatment: Provide treatment to patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.

• Documentation: Accurately record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in compliance with PT Board requirements.

• Department Maintenance: Help maintain the functionality and cleanliness of the therapy department.

• Participation: Engage in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.

• Treatment Execution: Implement treatment plans according to the physician's directives and document any treatment modifications as per facility policies.

• Staff Training Support: Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides.

• Communication: Effectively communicate with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, concerns, and plans.

• In-Service Training: Participate in in-service training programs for staff within the facility.

• Family and Staff Instruction: Educate patients' families and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge from therapy services.

• Equipment Maintenance: Report any issues with department equipment to maintain functionality.

• Interpersonal Skills: Build positive, effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.

Required License or Certification

• Valid Physical Therapist Assistant License
