The Physical Therapy Assistant (Home Health) provides services in client's home. The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist the physical therapist in performing selected components of physical therapy intervention to include treatment, measurement and data collection, but not to include the performance of an evaluation. Communicates client changes to physical therapist.

What You'll Do In This Role

  • Perform physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising physical therapist.
  • Assist in measurement of client progress and response to interventions.
  • Assist in data collection as directed.
  • Document interventions in the client's record.
  • Participate in in-service programs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to climb at least 2 flights of stairs
  • Must be able to stand/or walk for a period of at least 4 hours

The Experience You'll Bring

Required

  • Holds a current unencumbered state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • One year of experience, preferably in hospice, home health, or a skilled nursing facility.
  • Meets one of the following requirements:
  • (i) Graduated from a physical therapist assistant curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association;
  • or if educated outside the United States or trained in the United States military, graduated from an education program determined to be substantially equivalent to physical therapist assistant entry level education in the United States by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Physical Therapy Association or identified at 8 CFR 212.15(e); and
  • (ii) Passed a national examination for physical therapist assistants.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Motor Vehicle Driving Record satisfactory to the Agency and its insurance providers.
  • Proof of motor vehicle insurance.
  • Flu-Vaccinated

Preferred

  • COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy's statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. We encourage all new hires to consult with their healthcare provider regarding the most current vaccination recommendations. Please be aware that, depending on future CDC guidance or regulatory updates, we may require proof of the most recent COVID-19 vaccination as part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety.

  • Compensation Range: $50 - $60 per visit (based on relevant experience)
