Job Summary

The Physician Advisor Manager is a senior-level strategic role responsible for driving the performance, integration and continuous advancement of Tampa General Hospital's innovative Physician Advisor Program. Combines executive-level program management, advanced healthcare analytics and cross-departmental leadership to ensure the program delivers maximum operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and financial impact. Serves as the central architect of program strategy and partners directly with Finance, CMO Leadership, Quality, Case Management, Utilization Management, Revenue Cycle and Physician Leadership to align goals, manage enterprise-level initiatives and translate data into actionable insights. Leads predictive analytics, performance monitoring and process redesign efforts that directly influence clinical decision-making, revenue protection and patient care optimization. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide executive-level oversight of all Physician Advisor Program functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategic priorities, financial performance goals and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary strategic liaison between the Physician Advisor Program and hospital leadership, integrating program objectives with Finance, CMO Leadership, Quality, Case Management, Utilization, Revenue Cycle and Physician Leadership.
  • Co-develop annual program strategy with the Director of the Physician Advisor Program, including goal setting, budget planning, resource allocation and policy development.
  • Lead multi-departmental projects from initiation to execution, coordinating interdisciplinary meetings, managing resources and balancing competing priorities to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Design and maintain advanced analytics and reporting systems that provide actionable performance insights, financial impact modeling and regulatory compliance tracking.
  • Develop and oversee KPI dashboards with real-time monitoring capabilities; conduct trend analysis and predictive modeling to identify opportunities and risks before they impact operations.
  • Direct process improvement initiatives leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance program efficiency, appeal overturn rates and revenue protection.
  • Manage organizational change initiatives ensuring adoption, sustainability and measurable performance gains.
  • Oversee integration and optimization of technology platforms supporting program analytics, workflow management and Physician Advisor documentation.
  • Implement robust data governance and security protocols to ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS and internal data access standards.
  • Continuously evaluate program performance and recommend strategic adjustments to maintain best-in-class operational and financial results.
  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, HIM, or other related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive healthcare experience in acute care and health system environments, working with physicians and clinical staff.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced Data Analytics and Predictive Modeling: Expert proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik and other BI platforms to conduct high-value analytics, develop performance dashboards and build predictive models for strategic decision-making.
  • Change Management and Process Improvement: Mastery of Lean, Six Sigma and project management methodologies to drive sustainable process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of CMS, payer regulations and data governance protocols to ensure compliant program operations.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Experience directing interdisciplinary teams and managing competing priorities in high-stakes environments.
  • Healthcare Systems Expertise: Skilled in leveraging EHR systems, utilization review tools and revenue cycle platforms to integrate clinical and operational data streams.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional skill in creating and delivering data-driven presentations for senior leadership and physician executives.
  • Strategic Program Leadership: Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder programs in a large healthcare system, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and financial objectives.
  • Financial & Operational Insight : Ability to analyze and interpret healthcare financial data, utilization metrics and quality outcomes to drive high-impact program strategies.
  • Influence Across Matrix Environments: Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence action across diverse teams and organizational boundaries.
