Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $98.00 - $98.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
What you will be doing
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of all aspects of pre and post-operative critical care as directed by supervising physician.
- Management of acute post-operative pain.
- Ordering and administration of parenteral medicines, bolus doses and transfusions subject to co-signature of supervising physician within 24 hours of written order.
- Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests and invasive bedside procedures under the direction of the supervising physician.
- Insertion of IV lines; removal of Swan-Gantz and arterial catheters; administering PCA.
- Makes rounds with Attending and Resident physicians. Follows up on plans formulated on rounds.
- Discharges patients with Attending approval, when appropriate.
- Assists the supervising physician in coordinating management plan.
- Monitors and evaluates the patient's treatment and health care plan for effectiveness and modifies as necessary.
- Documents all assessments, findings, progress and care provided in the patient's medical record.
- Refers relevant clinical issues to the supervising physician.
- Works collaboratively with all nursing and other hospital staff as required.
- Adheres to all practice standards outlined by Hospital Administration and governing regulatory bodies.
Department Requirements:
- Displays a positive attitude toward work assignments, performance feedback, and interactions with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors.
- Willingly adheres to Department and Hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintains computer literacy, including proficiency in Outlook email and E-learning.
- Attends Department meetings regularly and punctually.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Physician Assistant Training Program
- Current New York State registration
- BLS/ACLS/PALS
- Current NCCPA and PANRE Certificate and continuing education and timely recertification as required
- Current Infection Control Certificate
- Prior critical care experience preferred
or:
Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited school of nursing
Licensure as an NP and RN in the state of NY
DEA
CPR certification: BLS/ACLS/PALS
Experience with an EMR (preferably Epic)
Current Infection Control Certificate
Prior critical care experience preferred
Shifts are variable (Days & Nights required as needed)

Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff- Acts as liaison Acts as a liaison between physician offices and Insurance Payors. Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff- Assists with meetings Schedules, coordinates, and documents for all PHO related meetings. Maintains Documentation & Manages Information- Maintains tracking logs Creates and maintains tracking logs for Insurance Payor issues and accountability for closing out items. Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff- Oversees PHO line Oversees PHO phone line, answers and responds to inquires, and assist with urgent physician office issues. Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff- Attendance Maintains satisfactory attendance record. Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff- Maintains punctuality Reports for duty punctually. Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff- Adjusts to change Adjusts to changing situations and work assignments.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Training Program.
Current New York State registration. Infection Control Certificate must be current. Must have taken child abuse recognition course.
