Physician- Rhinology and Skull Base Otolaryngologist (Clinician Scientist)

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, is actively recruiting a full-time fellowship trained, board-certified or board-eligible Rhinology and Skull Base Otolaryngologist, Clinician-Scientist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, to provide surgical and non-surgical management of sinonasal disease, providing medical and surgical interventions for rhinologic conditions, including functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and nasal reconstruction and surgery for anterior skull base disorders. This individual will join a clinically and academically productive Rhinology and Skull Base division of two surgeons who work with a team of skull base neurosurgeons. Practice sites will include the University of Kansas Health System, as well as our affiliated sites of the Kansas City VA, and University Health Medical Center all in Kansas City.

Preference will be given to those individuals who have significant interest and background in research and are interested in a clinician-scientist position, dividing their time between clinical and research activities, educating residents, medical students and fellows and engaging in scholarly activities. There are a considerable number of clinical trials and funded translational research within the division, and the Department has the resources and infrastructure to support a candidate who currently holds or has the potential for securing competitive external funding.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD, DO or equivalent
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in Otolaryngology
  • Must be Board Certified/Eligible in Otolaryngology
  • Fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery
  • Expertise in surgical and nonsurgical management of rhinologic and anterior skull base disorders
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri
