Hardy Corporation has been providing mechanical services for over 80 years. Below are some of the skills, qualifications, and benefits of the position.   • This position requires an occasional commute to some local job sites in Birmingham AL
  • All welding work is performed in our on-site fabrication shop. Travel to job sites is only as needed.

Possess a strong attention to detail and alert to ensure all OSHA safety guidelines are being followed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • 3+ years of experience as a pipe welder
  • Must be able to pass a 6G weld certification test
  • Must be able to weld in the following styles: MIG, TIG & STICK
  • The ability to travel (not optional)
  • A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred
  • Experience piping with cooling towers, chillers, boilers, large roof top equipment
  • Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines
  • Utilize hand tools, plasma cutters, and metal cutting machines to measure and cut metal components

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to all OSHA safety protocols
  • Observes and complies with all safety and project rules, as well as all company policies and procedures
  • Must be detail-oriented, have a positive attitude, and be able to work as part of a team
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize work assignments
  • Set up, maintain, and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors
  • Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
  • Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
