WHAT IS TEKNIPLEX?

TekniPlex Healthcare is a respected business partner that specializes in the manufacturing of medical and pharmaceutical packaging for companies around the world. We aim to deliver better patient outcomes by manufacturing products that allow for less invasive procedures, reduced pain, faster healing, and safer drug delivery. We are currently hiring a Plant Trainer - Manufacturing & Safety | TekniPlex Healthcare for our Clayton, NC facility.

JOB SUMMARY

The Plant Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs to ensure all plant employees are fully trained in safety, quality, production processes, and equipment operation. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing workforce skills, promoting a culture of safety and compliance, and reducing training-related inefficiencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver onboarding and ongoing training to new and existing production employees on equipment operation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, visual aids, and job aids tailored to plant-specific processes.
  • Conduct hands-on training on the production floor to ensure skill retention and operational consistency.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through observation, testing, and feedback, and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of employee training history and certifications in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, quality assurance, and safety to identify training needs and gaps.
  • Support cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the development and rollout of continuous improvement and manufacturing initiatives.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with OSHA, ISO, and other regulatory or industry standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; prior training or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, safety procedures, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train individuals and small groups using various methods (classroom, hands-on, virtual, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to provide training to all shifts.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and train on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization.  Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
