What you will do

Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Lead UX Product Designer located in Westford, MA. This is a hybrid position and would require you to be onsite 3 days a week. You will have the chance to lead our UX design efforts for access control and video solutions, as well as collaborate with global teams!

How you will do it

  • Lead our user feedback and research efforts

  • Leverage metrics, optimization, qualitative and quantitative research to inform and validate design decisions

  • Conduct and deliver key insights based on UX research and data

  • Engage in benchmarking to evaluate how we compare to our competitors

  • Manage and acquire UX resources and tools

  • Utilize research data to enhance the design and user experience of our offerings

  • Identify users and create personas

  • Identify user needs and evaluate them against the requirements

  • Validate the design by learning how real users interact with the product (usability testing)

What we look for

Required

  • 7+ years’ experience in a similar role where you have led design for a major feature or product

  • Leading/mentoring UX designers and design projects

  • You have experience in owning the UX of a digital product from inception through to release

  • User research and analysis to final product

  • Lead design workshops with customers and stakeholders

  • Experience in creating design assets in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and using design systems to ensure a consistent experience across multiple products and features

  • Experience in using flow and visualization tools like Whimsical and Miro to quickly map user flows and processes ahead of creating final designs
