We are currently hiring:
Job Title: Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator/Administrator
Job Summary: Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator is an entry-level position responsible for organizing and maintaining documentation to ensure that the PSM program is compliant with all OSHA and EPA regulations, in addition to applicable RAGAGEP standards. The PSM Coordinator will serve as the liaison between the Safety and plant Refrigeration departments, working closely with both groups. The PSM Coordinator will provide oversight to ensure the 14 Elements of PSM are implemented at the facility.
Additional responsibilities of the plant PSM Coordinator include reviewing/updating Safety Data Sheets and chemical inventories, having an active role in emergency management planning, and assisting in environmental initiatives.
Compensation Details: Minimum starting wage is $22.73 per hour, with experience up to $27 per hour
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee the facility PSM/RMP Program, including (but not limited to):
Coordinate with the site Utilities department to ensure corrective actions/recommendations associated with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Mechanical Integrity and Compliance Audit are addressed and closed in a timely manner
Ensure all Process Safety Information (PSI) is organized, accurate, implemented and available upon request
Coordinate and document Management of Change/PSSR and Incident Investigations related to the ammonia refrigeration system
Work with the ammonia refrigeration department to ensure PSM/RMP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are current and accurate
Lead and facilitate the location's PSM Committee meetings
Assist in ammonia-related emergency planning with both internal and external parties, and ensure communication/dialogue is established with location LEPC and emergency responders
Assist the ammonia refrigeration department in coordinating and documenting IIAR 6 Inspection/Testing/Maintenance (ITM) activities
Coordinate training for ammonia refrigeration operators and ensure documentation is maintained and filed
Ensure Hot Work, Line Break, LOTO and Confined Space procedures are available to ammonia refrigeration operators. Work with the site Utilities leadership to ensure they are implemented as necessary
Coordinate and oversee location's compliance with Hazard Communication/Right-to-Know program, including (but not limited to):
Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Chemical Approvals
Chemical Inventories and Labeling
Federal, State, and Local Reporting (i.e. Tier II, Form R, etc.)
Coordinate location's ammonia response capabilities, including (but not limited to):
Ensure plant management and personnel have appropriate training for emergencies related to the ammonia refrigeration system
Establish communication/dialogue with the location's LEPC and emergency responders; ensure all joint drills/exercises with LEPC, as noted in the RMP regulation, are planned and executed
Maintain all documentation associated with ammonia-related emergency planning and activities
Assist the Environmental Department, as needed:
Weekly/Monthly/Annual inspections related to chemicals
Monitor certain aspects of ISO 14001 and Landfill Free compliance
Facilitate monthly environmental CORE Team meetings
Assist the plant Safety/Security Department, as needed, consistent with the Company's "One Team" culture
All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in Safety, ammonia refrigeration, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus, but not required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. No sponsorships are available
- Knowledge of how regulations and standards are structured, interpreted, and implemented. Experience with OSHA, EPA RMP, and/or ammonia refrigeration related RAGAGEP a plus
- Must have computer skills and be able to use various work-related programs (i.e. email, spreadsheets, etc.). Willing to learn cloud-based platform used to digitally manage PSM/RMP program and documentation
- Must be efficient at working with internal departments as well as external contractors
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving, working independently without constant supervision, and adjusting quickly to changing demands
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends, if needed
- Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen and physical.
