Job Description

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST DESCRIPTIONThe Procurement Specialist is responsible for carrying out good purchasing practices. The Specialist ensures PAR levels, price accuracy, and lot traceability and collaborates with the Operations team members responsible for handling damages and shorts upon receipt.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThe Procurement Specialist does the following.1. Maintains consistent quantity on hand of all regular-stock items2. Increases turns per year to avoid over-stocking, ensure product shelf life, and lower inventory carrying cost3. Brings in special order items4. Tracks and verifies product costs5. Accounts for demand variances due to seasonal and other sales spikes6. Ensures product quality by collaborating with the Operations team to proactively address damages, shorts, and packaging errors upon receipt7. Minimizes carrying cost by collaborating with the Operations team to comply with special handling instructions, optimize storage space, and properly rotate product8. Helps to ensure vendors’ and suppliers’ compliance with agreements and contracts; reports instances of noncompliance to the Vendor Relations Director9. Works as a member of a team representing:

10. Contributes to the team by performing other work as necessaryQUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum one year of experience in high volume warehouse or receiving/replenishment
  • Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field
  • Previous experience with dynamic replenishment systems
  • A strong knowledge of all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving, and inventory control
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Dynamics, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately
  • Attention to detail and finely tuned time management skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is a plus
